Allyson Felix
Allyson Michel Felix was born the 18th of November 1985, in Los Angeles. Felix's father Paul Felix is an ordained Minister of the Master's Seminary, Sun Valley. And her mother Marlean Felix is a teacher at Balboa Magnet Primary School. Felix's ability to compete in athletics was apparent from the time she started attending Los Angeles Baptist High School. Within 10 weeks of her first attempt, she finished third in the 200 meter event in the U.S. Indoor Track and Field Championship. Felix has graduated from high school in 2003, signed a sports contract with Adidas. She then attended the University of Southern California and completed her studies in elementary education. Felix's first Olympic medal came at the 2004 Summer Olympics held at Athens Greece. Felix set an international junior record the 200m race in 22.18 secs. At the 2005 Helsinki World Championships, Felix was the youngest world champion in running 200m. In 2007, she was able to defend the title against her Jamaican rival Veronica Campbell. Felix was consistently within the top three across her diverse races at the Olympics which took place at Beijing London Rio de Janeiro Tokyo.
